It’s September already, the year is almost ending, and it is, probably, a good time to check on different projects. At least that’s one thing that I like to do.
I have some personality quirks, not many but enough to go by life, and one of those is that I like to start certain months of the year or life cycles with a clean desktop. I guess it comes from back of my student years, I wouldn’t say around high school, as I was not a good student (as my parents can vouch for, hi mom, hi dad!), so it must have started back in architecture school. Wanting to have a clean desk before getting back into the drawing, cutting cardboard, building models, and having a mess on the desk. A moment of calm before the storm.
Early September is another moment to clean the desk and get ready for the last months of the year. And that’s what I did. Not only figuratively, but also physically. Removed everything from the desk, cleaned it, and only got back into it what I need for work. It’s a good and clean feeling.

I titled this post as follow up on projects, and it is. It is not a clean slate for starting something new, it’s a time to follow up on what I’ve been up to during the summer. That means the second part of the 15-minute walks project. I completed the fifteen walks in the park, taking photos, observing, and walking the same routes multiple times. It was a good creative exercise to see the same place multiple times and notice something new every time.
Now, I’m starting the work on sorting the photos, organising them, making different passes on how I see this body of work coming together, and thinking of the next steps. Building a zine/book/printed medium. However we want to call it.
Now is the time to start getting the desk messy. To put all the photos together, do some printing, draw ideas, and build prototypes. It is time to make.
