Long time without writing. So long that I don’t even want to look at the latest email I sent you 🫣 Sorry about the radio silence. I don’t intend to do a recap of the last months, or a months in review, lets jump straight into it.

The week was an ok one, not too bad. It started with some recovery from a bad flu, work, and deadlines, usual stuff. But the highlight of the week was attending the second Amsterdam Photo Walk with other 20ish photographers. It was a great experience to walk around the city, take photos and get to know more people.

For this walk I got to shoot with my Fujifilm X-T50, using the kit lens 16-45mm F/3.5-5.6. The day was cold and cloudy, with the sun making some guest appearances along the day. Overall it was a day with good conditions to be outside.

I got to be out of my comfort zone for this walk. No only for the type of photography, but also, as an introvert, to get out and meet new people. It was a good experience, as I got the opportunity to watch and learn from others on how they approach photography and what they see in the city.

I am keen to see the results from the rest of the group, as we all navigated the same route, but we see different and will have different results even from shots taken at the same place and time.

This unique point of view of the photographer is something that attracts me more into photography. It’s a visual door into how someone else’s experiences and sees life in the world.

Photography, and in particular urban/street photography is a way, for me, to capture what sometimes is intangible of a city, their characters, the moods, the life.

As the weeks go by I will be publishing more photos from the photo walk. You can follow along on:
